Thakur Bhupendra Singh, Ahmedabad: The High Court has taken cognizance of the increasing number of coronavirus cases in Gujarat and has instructed the state government to take appropriate steps.

The court has commented that there is a need for a lockdown in the state and the state government should take a decision as soon as possible. 

A bench of High Court Chief Justice Vikram Nath and Justice Bhargava Karia has given suggestions to the state government to take a decision on the curfew and weekend curfew for 3 to 4 days, on which the Chief Minister can take a decision after the late evening meeting.

The coronavirus pandemic has been steadily increasing in Gujarat. More than 3 thousand new cases of coronavirus have been registered in the state for the first time after the data arrived yesterday. 

According to the latest data released on Monday evening by the Gujarat Health Department, 3160 new cases have been registered. The total number of infections has increased to 3,21,598, while 15 people died. 

Meanwhile, it is a matter of relief that 2038 patients have also recovered. While the total death toll in the state has reached 4581, a total of 3,00,765 patients have been recovered so far. The total number of active cases in the state has increased to 16,252, out of which 167 patients are in critical condition. While 16,085 patients the condition remains stable.

The most serious situation is in Ahmedabad and Surat. In the last 24 hours, 787 cases and 6 people have died in Ahmedabad while 7 people have been recorded in Surat with 788 cases. 311 new cases have been reported in Rajkot and 330 in Vadodara. In the last nine days in the Civil Hospital, a total of 899 patients were admitted to the hospital due to coronavirus infection. 

On the direction of the High Court, the Chief Minister of the state Vijay Rupani has called a high-level meeting, after this meeting held late in the evening, what will be decided on the suggestion of the High Court, CM Rupani, who visited Surat, said that The decision will be taken keeping in mind the interests of the common man
