New Delhi: If want to celebrate Holi in a carefree manner, then there is some bad news for you – the government has announced strict measures for those who break traffic rules during the festival.

The Ministry of Transport has again issued a major advisory. You may have to serve 2 years in jail and a heavy fine of Rs 15,000 for breaking traffic rules during Holi.
In fact, the Ministry of Transport has warned those who drink and drive on Holi. The Transport Ministry has said that celebrate Holi festival with colors, but also take care of safety, do not drive a vehicle after drinking alcohol. Celebrate the festival with an open heart, but always be careful!
According to Section 185 of the Motor Vehicles Act, if you are caught for drunk driving on Holi for the first time, then you may face a jail term of 6 months or a penalty of 10,000. If you are caught making such a mistake repeatedly, then you may have to pay a fine of Rs 15,000.
Under the new traffic rules, the driver has to store all his documents on mobile. This will prevent them from physically carrying any documents with them. If the traffic police ask for a driving license or other documents, the driver may show a soft copy.
